The following table lists required permissions for user accounts to back up and restore Microsoft SQL Server data.
Operation | Required Roles and Permissions |

Restore | The account being used must be a member of the Local Administrator group and must be granted the sysadmin role on a target Microsoft SQL Server. For more information about Microsoft SQL Server roles, see this Microsoft article. |
