Deploying Veeam Data Connector

To collect Veeam data through Veeam REST APIs, you must deploy the Veeam Data Connector. To do this, perform the following steps:

  1. Open the Data Connectors section:
  • If you use Microsoft Sentinel in the Microsoft Defender portal, click Microsoft Sentinel > Configuration > Data connectors in the portal menu.
  • If you use Microsoft Sentinel in the Microsoft Azure portal, click Configuration > Data connectors in the workspace menu.
  1. Select Veeam Data Connector (using Azure Functions) and click Open connector page.
  2. Click Deploy to Azure.
  3. In the Project details section, specify your Microsoft Azure subscription and resource group.
  4. In the Instance details section, specify the following settings:
  • Workspace Name — The name of your Microsoft Sentinel workspace.
  • Function App Name — The name of the application. Replace the default value veeamapp with a custom one.
  • App Service Plan SKU — The App Service Plan tier that will be used by Veeam App. Select the plan that covers the number of Veeam servers you want to connect to the app.
  • Key Vault Name — The name of the Azure Key Vault instance. By default, the Veeam Key Vault is used.

Note

Using Veeam Key Vault comes with an additional cost. To lower costs, you can specify your Key Vault instance.

For other settings, leave the default values or update them if required.

  1. To review and deploy the connector, click Review + create > Create.
