Encryption Standards

Veeam Availability Console uses the following industry-standard data encryption algorithms:

Sensitive Data Encryption

To encrypt sensitive data such as credentials, Veeam Availability Console uses Data Protection API (DPAPI). For details, see https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms995355.aspx.

Certificates Generation

To generate self-signed certificates, Veeam Availability Console uses RSA algorithm with a 2048-bit key length and SHA-2 hashing algorithm.
