Connecting Mine with Veeam 3.0 Backup Infrastructure

If Mine with Veeam 3.0 is present in your virtual environment, you can add its repositories and proxies to the Mine with Veeam 4.0 backup infrastructure. This will allow you to manage backups created with Mine with Veeam 3.0 from a single Veeam Backup & Replication console and to use the storage capacity of the Mine with Veeam 3.0 backup repositories.

Important

The both backup servers in Mine with Veeam 3.0 and Mine with Veeam 4.0 must run the same version of Veeam Backup & Replication. If not, you must perform Veeam Backup & Replication upgrade first.

To connect the Mine with Veeam 3.0 backup infrastructure components to Mine with Veeam 4.0, do the following:

  1. Log in to the Veeam Backup & Replication console of the backup server connected to Mine with Veeam 3.0, and create a configuration backup file as described in the Veeam Backup & Replication User Guide, section Running Configuration Backups Manually.
  2. Copy the created configuration backup file to the backup server connected to Mine with Veeam 4.0.
  3. Power off the backup server connected to Mine with Veeam 3.0.
  4. Log in to the Veeam Backup & Replication console of the backup server connected to Mine with Veeam 4.0, and restore the configuration using the copied file as described in the Veeam Backup & Replication User Guide, section Restoring Configuration Database.
  5. Log in to the Mine 4.0 console and click Re-Setup.
  6. In the confirmation window, click OK.

Note that it may take up to half an hour for verification and configuration operations to complete.

Once the foundation server configures the backup server, you will be able to manage backups created with Mine with Veeam 3.0. For example:

  • Copy backups to the repositories deployed in the Mine with Veeam 4.0 cluster as described in the Veeam Backup & Replication User Guide, section Copying Backups.
  • [Applies only to backups that support the move backup functionality] Move backups to the repositories deployed in the Mine with Veeam 4.0 cluster as described in the Veeam Backup & Replication User Guide, section Moving Backups.
