Assigning Veeam Policies

In this article

The Veeam Backup Add-on includes two policies:

    • Veeam Backup Servers Policy
    • Veeam Enterprise Manager Servers Policy

Veeam policies define scheduling settings for the Collect and Process Backup Server Stats agent procedure. By default, the procedure is scheduled to run every hour.

You can assign the policies to machines running Veeam Backup & Replication or Veeam Backup Enterprise Manager. As a result, the agent procedure will be scheduled to run on Veeam backup servers according to the schedule specified in policy settings.

You can assign a policy to machine groups or organizations that include Veeam backup servers:

    1. In the Kaseya console, go to Policy Management > Assignment > Organizations/Machine Groups.
    2. Expand the machine groups tree and select one or more machine groups that include Veeam backup servers.
    3. In the policies tree, expand the Veeam Policies folder and select the necessary policy — Veeam Backup Servers Policy or Veeam Enterprise Manager Servers Policy.
    4. Click Select & Assign.
    5. In the Confirm Assignment dialog box, click Assign.

If necessary, you can change the default schedule settings for Veeam policies. To learn about working with policies in Kaseya, see http://help.kaseya.com/webhelp/EN/kpm/R8/index.asp#home.htm.

    Notes

When scheduling the agent procedure, note the following:

    • For the first time, the procedure will start at 12 AM on the next day after the installation. If you do not want to wait for data collection, you can use the Run Now command to start the agent procedure on selected Veeam backup servers immediately. For details, see http://help.kaseya.com/webhelp/EN/vsa/R8/index.asp#10720.htm.
    • In some cases, the agent procedure may not start as defined by the schedule. This can happen if the procedure is scheduled at a time when Kaseya system agent procedures must run. In this case, the agent procedure has lower priority and is queued after Kaseya agent procedures.
