You can instruct Veeam Backup for Nutanix AHV to automatically add all unprotected VMs to a protection domain. The protection domain can be further protected by a backup, snapshot or PD snapshot job. To select a protection domain for VM auto-protection, do the following:
- Switch to the Configuration page.
- Navigate to Nutanix AHV Cluster.
- Click Auto-Protection.
- In the VM Auto-Protection window, set the Auto-Protection toggle to On.
- Select a protection domain.
- Click Apply.

If a VM is already protected using the Disaster Recovery functionality, Veeam Backup for Nutanix AHV may fail to add the VM to the selected protection domain. |
