To be able to back up and restore Nutanix AHV VMs, you must set up the backup infrastructure. To set up the backup infrastructure, perform the following steps.
Install Veeam Backup & Replication and configure the backup repository that will be used as a target for VM backups.
Deploy Veeam Availability for Nutanix AHV on a AHV cluster where user VMs that you plan to back up reside.
Add a Veeam Backup & Replication server to the Veeam Availability for Nutanix AHV infrastructure.
Provide access to Veeam backup repositories for users who are allowed to back up AHV VMs.
