At the Schedule step of the wizard, you can specify the backup schedule for the backup policy — define how often EC2 instance data must be backed up.
- Specifying daily schedule
- Specifying weekly schedule
- Specifying monthly schedule
- Specifying yearly schedule
Specifying several schedule types together allows you to archive backups for longer periods of time (weeks, months and years). For details, see Backup Archiving.

If you do not specify the backup schedule, after you configure the backup policy, you will need to start it manually to create EC2 instance backups. For information on how to start backup policies, see Starting and Stopping Backup Policies. |
