Backup Schedule
You can start backup policies manually or instruct Veeam Backup for AWS to start them automatically according to the backup schedule. The backup schedule defines how often data of EC2 instances in a backup policy must be backed up.
To help you implement a comprehensive backup strategy, Veeam Backup for AWS allows you to specify for a backup policy the following backup schedule types:
- Daily Schedule
With daily schedule, a backup policy will create backups repeatedly throughout a day on defined days.
- Weekly Schedule
With weekly schedule, a backup policy will create backups once a day: at the specified time on defined days.
- Monthly Schedule
With monthly schedule, a backup policy will create backups once a month: at the specified time on a defined day.
- Yearly Schedule
With yearly schedule, a backup policy will create backups once a year: at the specified time on a defined day and month.
Note that you can specify the yearly schedule only for backup policies that are configured to create image-level backups.
You can specify the necessary schedule type in backup policy settings. Specifying several schedule types together allows you to archive backups for longer periods of time (weeks, months and years). For details, see Backup Archiving.
