AHV Backup Proxy creates image-level backups of VMs. AHV Backup Proxy retrieves VM data from Nutanix AHV cluster at a block level, compresses and deduplicates it, and forwards it to a backup repository in the Veeam proprietary format. Image-level backups can be used for restore of VMs and VM files.
Backup is a job-driven process. To perform backup, you need to configure a backup job. Backup job is a configuration unit which allows to specify VMs that you want to back up, select a backup repository, define schedule and other backup settings.
