A Part of vs. Part of

Use part when talking about an integral element that belongs to something and is essential to its nature. Use a part when talking about one of several or many equal units of something bigger — combined all together, these units make up the whole.

A Part of vs. Part of Tip

If you can separate a part from a whole, use a part.

Examples

  1. Technical writing is part of my life.
  2. As part of the Veeam Agent management scenario, you can remotely deploy Veeam Agent for Linux to your computers.
  3. Enter a VM name or a part of it in the search field.
  4. If you choose to register the restored VM on a host that is a part of a Microsoft Hyper‑V failover cluster, you can register the VM as a cluster resource.
