Editing Template Jobs

When you create a failover plan, you have an option to protect VMs included in the plan after failover. VAO will automatically create a new backup job to protect the replicas as part of the failover plan execution process.

To accomplish this, configure a template backup job on any Veeam Backup & Replication server in the DR site. For VAO to discover the backup job as a Template, you must create a standard Veeam backup job with the following obligatory settings:

  1. The backup job description must contain the [VAO TEMPLATE] text.

  1. The backup job must not contain any VMs.

Editing Template Jobs Tip:

You can create an empty VM folder and add that folder to the Virtual machines to backup list.

Editing Template Jobs Note:

The VAO template job can be configured per-VM group in the failover plan. To do that, select the Protect VM Groups after failover option when editing the plan. With this option selected, a new backup job will be created for the VM group. For more information, see Overriding VM Recovery and Protection Settings.

After you create a template backup job on the Veeam Backup & Replication server in the DR site, VAO will collect this data and display it in the VAO UI.

I want to report a typo

There is a misspelling right here:

I want to let the Veeam Documentation Team know about that.
