Generating Plan Definition Report
As soon as you create a failover plan, you will become able to produce the DR Plan Definition Report.
The report provides an easily shareable view of the plan details: it will show all VM groups, plan steps and parameters defined by the failover plan. This document is ideal for auditors and managers, and can be used to obtain sign-off from application owners who need to verify the plan configuration.
VAO will run the DR Plan Definition Report automatically, daily at 7:00 AM. You can also generate the report on-demand:
- Navigate to Reports.
- In the Sites column, select the VAO site.
- In the Plans column, select the plan.
- In the Reports column, switch to the Definition tab and click Update Definition Report.
|
The Update Definition Report link will be unavailable in case the plan is being edited. |
- Click the report name to download and open the Plan Definition Report.
The report will display a plan overview, information on VM groups and VMs included in the plan, and settings of specific steps that will run during failover.
The Plan Change Log section will show plan configuration edits. It allows you to track who changed plan settings, when and what was changed.
To include less details in the report output, you can specify more granular report settings as described in section Configuring Report Options.
|
The Plan Change Log may grow very large over time. To clear the change log history, follow the instructions provided in section Resetting Failover Plans. |
