To be able to explore and recover the necessary database, you should have a transactionally-consistent backup of your Microsoft SharePoint created successfully. For that, select the Enable application-aware image processing option on the Guest Processing step of the backup job wizard when configuring your SharePoint backup.
Note: |
If you have different servers in your SharePoint deployment - that is, an SQL Server hosting the content database, and web server hosting SharePoint application - make sure that backup for each of these virtualized servers is created with application-aware processing enabled. |
The user account that you specify for guest processing of the Microsoft SharePoint (in the Guest OS credentials section at this step of the wizard) should meet the requirements stated in the Permissions section of this document.
For details on backup job settings, see also the "Administration > Creating Backup Jobs > Step 9. Specify Guest Processing Settings > Application-Aware Processing" section of the Veeam Backup & Replication User Guide for the corresponding platform (for Hyper-V and for VMware).
