Applies to

Platform: VMware

Product Edition: Standard, Enterprise, Enterprise Plus

Syntax

This cmdlet provides 2 parameter sets.

  • For authenticating with username/password:

Add-NimbleHost -Name <string> -UserName <string> -Password <string> [-Description <string>] [-RESTAPIPort <int>] [-Proxy <IProxy[]>] [-iSCSI] [-FibreChannel] [-WhatIf] [-Confirm]  [<CommonParameters>]

Add-NimbleHost -Name <string> -Credentials <CCredentials> [-Description <string>] [-RESTAPIPort <int>] [-Proxy <IProxy[]>] [-iSCSI] [-FibreChannel] [-WhatIf] [-Confirm]  [<CommonParameters>]

Detailed Description

This cmdlet adds a selected Nimble storage to Veeam Backup & Replication.

When you add a storage to your management console, Veeam Backup & Replication automatically rescans the storage infrastructure. To rescan the storage infrastructure manually, run Sync-NimbleHost or Sync-NimbleVolume.

When adding a storage, you will need to provide either username/password or credentials. Use an appropriate parameter set for each case.

Example

This example shows how to add the Nimble storage to the backup infrastructure.

  1. Run Get-VBRCredentials to get a credentials record for the Nimble storage and save it to the $credentials variable.
  2. Run Get-VBRViProxy to get a backup proxy that will be used for storage rescan and Backup from Storage Snapshots, and save it to the $proxy variable.
  3. Run Add-NimbleHost with $credentials and $proxy variables and set the protocol to iSCSI.

PS C:\PS> $credentials = Get-VBRCredentials -Name Administrator

PS C:\PS> $proxy = Get-VBRViProxy -Name 172.17.53.5

PS C:\PS> Add-NimbleHost -Name 172.17.53.38 -Credentials $credentials -Description "Nimble Storage iSCSI" -Proxy $proxy -iSCSI
