Backups in Repository

The report provides information on the amount of space used by backup files of different types stored in repositories. The report shows top repositories for a specific counter.

Description

The report features a predefined list of counters.

Note

To run the Backups in Repository report, you must have Veeam Management Pack for Microsoft System Center installed.

Parameters

Group extent data by SOBR: defines whether to show extents as part of scale-out backup repositories.

Note

If you select No, the report will show extents as individual repositories.

Chart column limit: defines the number of top backup repositories to include in report charts. The value can range between 5 and 20.

Chart column limit by: defines whether to show top repositories by the largest amount of used space or by the number of objects in backup files.

Scope: defines a list of Groups or Objects to analyze in the report (by default, the Veeam Backup Repository Group and Veeam Scale-Out Backup Repository Group are selected). The Add Group option returns a Group and all objects that a group contains. The Add Object option returns only the selected object.

Sample Usage

Report on top 5 repositories that have the largest amount of used space.

Instructions

  1. Open the Backups in Repository report.
  2. From Group extent data by SOBR list, select No.
  3. In the Chart column limit field, enter 5.
  4. From the Chart column limit by list, select Backup Size.
  5. Leave the Scope section without changes.
  6. Click Run to view the report.

Report Output

The report will show 5 repositories with the largest amount of used space.

The Summary table will display the full list of repositories present in your infrastructure. For each repository, the table will display the name of the Veeam Backup & Replication server that backs up data to that repository. You can click a repository name in the Summary table to drill down to the Backups in Repository Details Report.

The Summary table will also provide an overview for all repositories included in the report scope: the total amount of used and free space, the total number of VM backups, physical machine backups and file share backups stored in the repositories.

The Top Repositories by Used Space chart will display top 5 repositories with the largest amount of backed-up data.

The Top Repositories by VM Data Stored, Top Repositories by Computer Data Stored and Top Repositories by File Share Data Stored charts will display top repositories with the largest amount of space consumed by VM backups, physical machine backups and file share backups stored in the repository.

Note

If several objects have the same ranking function value, the report will include more objects than you have set in the Chart column limit field. For example, the 5 report will show 6 objects if two objects share the same position (have the same value).
