The following steps briefly describe the overall process when recovering Microsoft SQL Server database using Veeam Explorer for Microsoft SQL Server.
- The backup content is obtained using Veeam Backup & Replication capabilities. See Obtaining Microsoft SQL Server Database Files.
- The backup data is mounted on a target or on the staging SQL server. See Understanding Mounting.
- Veeam Explorer for Microsoft SQL Server obtains SQL server hierarchy information and displays this information to the user.
- Users utilize Veeam Explorer for Microsoft SQL Server capabilities to recover or export data from the backup file.
