Troubleshooting Backup Appliance Issues
If the Nutanix AHV backup appliance gets unavailable in the Veeam Backup & Replication console, the number of data protection and disaster recovery tasks that you can perform with Veeam Backup for Nutanix AHV will become limited. For example, you will be no longer be able to use the console to manage jobs protecting Nutanix AHV resources. Although you will still be able to perform some tasks from the web console, it is strongly recommended that you resolve the following backup appliance issues:
- Connection issues — to do that, review the backup appliance settings.
- Synchronization issues — to do that, rescan the backup appliance.
- Availability issues — to do that, open the Nutanix AHV console and ensure that the Nutanix AHV Prism Central with all its clusters or the standalone Nutanix AHV cluster is available.
Tip |
In the Nutanix AHV console, you can also check whether the backup appliance VM is powered on. |
If the Nutanix AHV backup appliance remains unavailable, open the web console and switch to the Configuration page. Then, in the Administration section, check whether the backup appliance is able to connect both to the backup server and to the Nutanix AHV Prism Central or the standalone Nutanix AHV cluster. If you encounter any connection issues, check your network configuration — the appliance must be able to resolve the backup server and cluster domain names to their IP addresses.
