Controller Server

The controller server is a Linux-based Microsoft Azure VM where Veeam Backup for Microsoft Azure is installed. The controller server performs the following administrative activities:

Manages backup infrastructure components
Controls snapshot creation, backup and recovery of Microsoft Azure VMs.
Maintains backup policy scheduling

The controller server also maintains the configuration database that stores records about backup policies, protected VMs, workers, accounts and so on.
