Data Backup

In this article

With Veeam Backup for Microsoft Azure, to back up Microsoft Azure resources, you can do the following:

A backup policy is a set of configuration parameters that define a list of Microsoft Azure VMs to back up, a location where to store backups, a schedule according to which backups must be created and so on.

Each backup policy can process one or more Microsoft Azure VMs located in different regions. Veeam Backup for Microsoft Azure stores backups as blobs in backup repositories or as snapshots in the Microsoft Azure resource group of the source VMs.

With Veeam Backup for Microsoft Azure, you can take manual snapshots of Microsoft Azure VMs if needed. Such snapshots are not managed by any of your backup policies and exist as a standalone version of a VM captured at a point in time.

Veeam Backup for Microsoft Azure saves manual snapshots to the Microsoft Azure resource group of the source VMs.
