By default, Veeam Backup for Microsoft Azure 1.0 comes as a free edition that allows you to protect up to 10 Microsoft Azure VMs.

License Exceeded

When you exceed the counter of a Free license and attempt to back up an 11th VM, Veeam Backup for Microsoft Azure shows an error in backup policy sessions and continues to protect only 10 Microsoft Azure VMs.

Automatic License Revocation

Veeam Backup for Microsoft Azure automatically revokes the license for protected (backed-up) Microsoft Azure VMs if these VMs have not been backed-up within the last 31 days.
