You must add to the backup infrastructure Microsoft Hyper-V hosts on which VMs you plan to work with are located.
You can connect standalone Microsoft Hyper-V hosts, Microsoft Hyper-V clusters or SCVMM servers. If a Microsoft Hyper-V host is added to a cluster, it is recommended that you add to the backup infrastructure a cluster, not a standalone Microsoft Hyper-V host. Connecting clusters and SCVMM instead of standalone Microsoft Hyper-V hosts provides more flexibility at work.
Before adding a Microsoft Hyper-V server, check prerequisites. Then use the New Hyper-V Server wizard to add the server.
- Launch the New Hyper-V Server wizard
- Specify a server name or address
- Choose a server type
- Specify credentials
- Review components
- Finish working with the wizard
- Specify settings for connected volumes
