Veeam VMware: Host IP Address Conflict Alarm

This monitor tracks the vCenter alarm that alerts when duplicate IP addresses are assigned to management network ports on two different ESXi hosts.

By default, the alarm is triggered by the following event:

  • com.vmware.vc.host.HostIpConflictEvent: Host IP address conflict detected. {changingHostName} has changed own IP to {existingIp} which is already used by {existingHostName}.

To resolve the issue, review the alarm description to find out which host has got an IP address already being used. Change the IP address following the instructions provided in this VMware KB article.
