Veeam VMware: Registration/unregistration of Third-party IO Filter Storage Providers Fails on a Host Alarm

This monitor tracks the vCenter Alarm 'Registration/unregistration of third-party IO filter storage providers fails on a host'.

By default, the alarm is triggered by the following events:

  • com.vmware.vc.iofilter.HostVendorProviderRegistrationSuccessEvent: vCenter Server succeeded to register a third-party IO filter storage providers on a host.
  • com.vmware.vc.iofilter.HostVendorProviderDeregistrationSuccessEvent: vCenter Server succeeded to unregister a third-party IO filter storage providers on a host.
  • com.vmware.vc.iofilter.HostVendorProviderRegistrationFailedEvent: vCenter Server failed to register a third-party IO filter storage providers on a host.
  • com.vmware.vc.iofilter.HostVendorProviderDeregistrationFailedEvent: vCenter Server failed to unregister a third-party IO filter storage providers on a host.

In case of a registration error, check that VAIO storage provider endpoint is available through network and can be opened by the vCenter Server. Use the VMware Compatibility Guide to check that storage hardware is compatible with the current vCenter Server version.
