Veeam VMware: Registration/unregistration of a VASA Vendor Provider on a Virtual SAN Host Fails Alarm

This monitor tracks the vCenter Alarm 'Registration/unregistration of a VASA vendor provider on a Virtual SAN host fails'.

By default, the alarm is triggered by the following events:

  • com.vmware.vc.vsan.HostVendorProviderRegistrationSuccessEvent: Registration of a VASA vendor provider on a Virtual SAN host succeeded.
  • com.vmware.vc.vsan.HostVendorProviderDeregistrationSuccessEvent: Unregistration of a VASA vendor provider on a Virtual SAN host succeeded.
  • com.vmware.vc.vsan.HostVendorProviderRegistrationFailedEvent: Registration of a VASA vendor provider on a Virtual SAN host failed.
  • com.vmware.vc.vsan.HostVendorProviderDeregistrationFailedEvent: Unregistration of a VASA vendor provider on a Virtual SAN host failed.

In case of a registration error, check that VASA storage provider endpoint is available through network and can be opened by the vCenter Server. Check that the provider certificate, as well as Storage Monitoring Server certificate, are both accurate and valid. Use the VMware Compatibility Guide to check that storage hardware is compatible with the current vCenter Server version. For more information on errors during registering VASA providers with vCenter Server, see this VMware KB article.
