Veeam VMware: vMon API Service Health Alarm
This monitor tracks the vMon API Service Health Alarm.
By default, the alarm is triggered by the following event:
- vim.event.HealthStatusChangedEvent: Health status of the vMon API Service changed.
The vMon API Service (VMware Service Lifecycle Manager) is responsible for maintaining vCenter Server availability. The service checks the health state of all vCenter Server services. If VMware Service Lifecycle Manager detects a failure, it will take a preconfigured action (for example, if the vCenter Server fails, VMware Service Lifecycle Manager will restart it).
If the vMon API Service Health Alarm fires, check whether VMware Service Lifecycle Manager is running. In case the service is stopped, try starting it again. For more information on stopping, starting and restarting vCenter Server 6.x services, see this VMware KB article.
