Upgrading from Version 2.0 to 2.1
AHV Backup Proxy 2.1 supports integration with Veeam Backup & Replication 10 and 11. The best way to upgrade AHV Backup Proxy is to upgrade it along with Veeam Backup & Replication 11; but you can also upgrade only AHV Backup Proxy and use it with Veeam Backup & Replication 10. Upgrading to AHV Backup Proxy 2.1 and Veeam Backup & Replication 11
To upgrade AHV Backup Proxy from version 2.0 to version 2.1, do the following:
- In the Nutanix Prism console, open the terminal of the AHV Backup Proxy VM and run the following commands to update the expired repository key. For details see this Veeam KB.
sudo rm /etc/apt/trusted.gpg.d/veeam.gpg sudo wget https://repository.veeam.com/keys/veeam.gpg -O /etc/apt/trusted.gpg.d/veeam.gpg sudo apt-get update |
- Check the prerequisites and upgrade Veeam Backup & Replication from version 10 to version 11. For instructions on how to do it, see Upgrading to Veeam Backup & Replication 11.
- During the process of upgrading to Veeam Backup & Replication 11, the wizard will automatically upgrade Veeam AHV Plug-in to version 2.1.
- Open the Veeam Backup & Replication console. The upgrade wizard will appear and prompt you to upgrade the product components. Follow the wizard to complete the upgrade process for AHV backup infrastructure components.
Upgrading to AHV Backup Proxy 2.1 Without Upgrading Veeam Backup & Replication 10
- Make sure the latest run for all existing jobs has completed successfully. Rerun the failed jobs.
- Make sure there are no running jobs, restore sessions, Instant VM Recovery sessions and SureBackup jobs. We recommend that you do not stop running jobs and let them complete successfully. Disable any periodic and backup copy jobs temporarily to prevent them from starting during the upgrade.
- In the Nutanix Prism console, open the terminal of the AHV Backup Proxy VM and run the following commands to update the expired repository key. For details see this Veeam KB.

- Use the AHV Backup Proxy web console to upgrade to version 2.1. For instructions, see Installing Updates.
