Step 5. Configure Helper Appliance

At the Settings step of the wizard, specify helper appliance settings. A helper appliance is an auxiliary Linux-based instance used to upload disks of a backed-up Azure VM to Amazon EC2.

To configure helper appliance settings, do the following:

  1. In the EC2 instance type field, select the instance type for the helper appliance.
  2. In the Subnet field, select the subnet for the helper appliance.
  3. In the Security group field, select a security group that will be associated with the helper appliance.
  4. The default Redirector port is 443. Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft Azure will use this port to route requests between the helper appliance and backup infrastructure components. You can specify another port number.
