Working with Default Lab Groups

Default lab groups are lab groups created by an Administrator, but available for plan testing by Plan Authors for any scope.

To allow Plan Authors to use a default lab group when testing plans for their scope:

  1. Log in to the VAO UI as a VAO Administrator. For details, see Accessing VAO UI.
  2. Assign a DataLab to the scope as described in section Assigning DataLabs.
  3. Add the default lab group to the DataLab as described in section Creating Lab Groups.

The DataLab with the lab group will become available for the scope, and Plan Authors will be able to use the group for plan testing. The lab group will be preselected in the Run Lab Tests and Create Test Schedule wizards, and it will start before all other lab groups in the DataLab every time VAO powers on the lab to test an orchestration plan.

Plan Authors will not be able to edit the group or delete it from the DataLab because default lab groups can be managed only by Administrators.

Working with Default Lab Groups Note:

If an Administrator assigns a DataLab to the Default scope, lab groups added to the DataLab will not be treated as default lab groups. This means that Plan Authors will still be able to edit and delete these lab groups.

I want to report a typo

There is a misspelling right here:

I want to let the Veeam Documentation Team know about that.
