Restoring Data in Command Line Interface

In the event of a disaster, you can boot the machine from Veeam Recovery Media and use Veeam Agent for Oracle Solaris to restore data in command line interface. When you restore data with Veeam Recovery Media, Veeam Agent restores backup content directly to the available disks of the recovered system and replaces any current disk content.

Restoring Data in Command Line Interface Important

Be careful while working with file system of the recovery image OS in command line. Since you log in to the recovery image OS under the super user (root) account, you can perform unlimited operations including deleting files and directories on the mounted volume or in the mounted network shared folder.

 

Before you initiate bare metal recovery, review the prerequisites. Then complete these steps:

  1. Launch terminal.
  2. Specify backup location.
  3. Locate backup.
  4. Explore backup content.
  5. Explore restore points.
  6. Start restore process.
  7. Monitor restore process.
  8. Finish working with Veeam Recovery Media.
