Restoring Files and Directories
You can restore individual files and directories from Veeam Agent for Oracle Solaris backups.
The procedure of file-level restore from a Veeam Agent backup or backup copy practically does not differ from the same procedure for a VM backup. To learn more about file-level restore, see the Restore from Linux, Unix and Other File Systems section in the Veeam Backup & Replication User Guide.
Considerations and Limitations
Consider the following about file-level restore from a Veeam Agent for Oracle Solaris backup:
- You cannot restore files and directories to their original location or another UNIX machine. Use the Copy To option to save a file or directory on the Veeam backup server or another non-UNIX machine added to the Veeam backup infrastructure.
- If the backup copy job is targeted at an object storage repository, you will not be able to perform a restore from such backup copy on the Veeam Agent machine. Restoring from copies of Veeam Agent backups located in object storage can be performed only in Veeam Backup & Replication.
