Updating Veeam Backup & Replication License
You can update a license on managed Veeam Backup & Replication servers.

This option is available for Veeam Backup & Replication version 9.5 Update 4 or later. |
To update a license:
- Log in to Veeam Availability Console as a Portal Administrator.
For details, see Accessing Veeam Availability Console.
- At the top right corner of the Veeam Availability Console window, click Configuration.
- In the menu on the left, click Licensing.
- On the Backup Servers tab, select Veeam Backup & Replication servers on which you want to update license.
To narrow down the list of Veeam Backup & Replication servers, you can apply the following filters:
- Reseller — search the list of Veeam Backup & Replication servers by name of a reseller who manages the server.
- Company — search the list of Veeam Backup & Replication servers by name of a company who owns the server.
- Backup Server — search the list of Veeam Backup & Replication servers by the name of the server.
- License Status — limit the list of Veeam Backup & Replication servers by status of the installed license (Valid, Warning, Expired).
- Type — limit the list of Veeam Backup & Replication servers by type of license installed on the server (Community, Rental, Subscription, Perpetual).
- Format — limit the list of Veeam Backup & Replication servers by format of a licensed unit (Instances, Sockets).
- At the top of the list, click Update.
Veeam Availability Console will connect to the Veeam License Update Server on the Internet, download a new product license from it (if available), install it, and display a dialog box with the license update status.
- Click OK in the displayed dialog box to acknowledge the license update result.
Enabling Automatic License Update
You can enable automatic license update on managed Veeam Backup & Replication servers.

To enable automatic license update:
- Log in to Veeam Availability Console as a Portal Administrator.
For details, see Accessing Veeam Availability Console.
- At the top right corner of the Veeam Availability Console window, click Configuration.
- In the menu on the left, click Licensing.
- On the Backup Servers tab, select Veeam Backup & Replication servers on which you want to enable automatic license update.
To narrow down the list of Veeam Backup & Replication servers, you can apply the following filters:
- Reseller — search the list of Veeam Backup & Replication servers by name of a reseller who manages the server.
- Company — search the list of Veeam Backup & Replication servers by name of a company who owns the server.
- Backup Server — search the list of Veeam Backup & Replication servers by the name of the server.
- License Status — limit the list of Veeam Backup & Replication servers by status of the installed license (Valid, Warning, Expired).
- Type — limit the list of Veeam Backup & Replication servers by type of license installed on the server (Community, Rental, Subscription, Perpetual).
- Format — limit the list of Veeam Backup & Replication servers by format of a licensed unit (Instances, Sockets).
- At the top of the list, switch the License Auto Update toggle to On.
Veeam Availability Console will enable automatic license update and activate automatic usage reporting on the selected Veeam Backup & Replication servers.
