License Expiration
To ensure a smooth license update and provide sufficient time to install a new license file, Veeam Agent for IBM AIX offers pre-grace and grace periods.
- Pre-grace period is a period that precedes the license expiration date. Veeam Agent for IBM AIX offers a pre-grace period for all types of licenses.
- Grace period is a period that follows the license expiration date. Veeam Agent for IBM AIX offers a grace period for paid licenses only.
The duration of pre-grace and grace periods depends on the type of license installed in Veeam Agent for IBM AIX.
During the pre-grace period, when you start the Veeam Backup Console for the first time, Veeam Agent for IBM AIX informs you that the license will expire soon and reminds you to obtain a new license. During this period, Veeam Agent for IBM AIX operates in a regular way.
During the grace period, Veeam Agent for IBM AIX continues to operate in a regular way. When you start the Veeam Backup Console, Veeam Agent for IBM AIX informs you that the license must be renewed. You can press any key to proceed to the Veeam Backup Console main menu and continue using the product.
After the grace period expires, you cannot use the product. When you start the Veeam Backup Console, Veeam Agent for IBM AIX informs you that the product functionality is disabled. To continue using the product, you must obtain and install a new license.
