Restoring WPARs with Veeam Backup Console

    You can restore data pertaining to a WPAR from the WPAR backup. To restore a WPAR, you must use Veeam Agent for IBM AIX running in the OS on your machine. You cannot boot a machine from the recovery image and use the Veeam Recovery Environment to restore an individual WPAR.

    To perform WPAR restore:

    1. Launch the Veeam Backup Console with the veeam command.
    2. In the Veeam backup console menu, select WPARs.

    1. In the WPARs menu, select Restore WPAR.

    1. In the Select WPAR form, select the WPAR that you want to restore and select OK.

    1. Veeam Agent for IBM AIX will stop the WPAR and display a warning notifying that the entire WPAR data located on the machine will be replaced with the data located in the WPAR backup. Select OK to agree and start the WPAR restore process.

    1. Veeam Agent for IBM AIX will display the restore progress. After the restore process completes, Veeam Agent for IBM AIX will prompt you to start the restored WPAR. Select OK if you want to start the WPAR. Alternatively, select Cancel.

    1. Veeam Agent for IBM AIX will start the WPAR if required and display the result of the WPAR restore operation. Press any key to complete the restore procedure.
