Performing Salesforce Archiving

In the Veeam Backup for Salesforce Advanced license package, you can configure archival policies and instruct the product to delete obsolete or excessive data from Salesforce production organizations to consume less storage space in Salesforce and improve its performance. You can archive only records and files that have been backed up by the product; for the list of objects that cannot be archived, see Appendix A. Unsupported Objects.

When you instruct Veeam Backup for Salesforce to remove data while performing an archival operation, the archived data is removed from Salesforce — but remains in PostgreSQL databases and file repositories, and is marked as Archived.

Note

Only users assigned the Administrator or Backup Operator role can perform archival operations in Veeam Backup for Salesforce. However, these users can create and run archival policies within their permission scope only — that is, for companies and organizations whose data they can access.
