How to Reconfigure Computers with Nosnap Veeam Agent for Linux after Upgrade to Veeam Backup & Replication 12.1

Starting from Veeam Backup & Replication 12.1, you can manage nosnap Veeam Agents for Linux through a protection group for pre-installed Veeam Agents only. If in the previous version of Veeam Backup & Replication you managed nosnap Veeam Agent for Linux through a protection group for individual computers, you can reconfigure the protected Linux computers under a protection group for pre-installed Veeam Agents. Note that the backup chains for the reconfigured Veeam Agent computers will have to be restarted, mapping of the existing backups to another backup job is not possible.

To reconfigure the Veeam Agent computers with nosnap Veeam Agent for Linux installed, perform the following steps:

  1. Remove Veeam Agent computers from the protection group for individual computers or remove the protection group from the inventory. For more information see Removing Computer from Protection Group and Removing Protection Group.
  2. Upgrade nosnap Veeam Agent for Linux on the protected computers. For more information, see Installing Nosnap Veeam Agent for Linux in Offline Mode in the Veeam Agent for Linux User Guide.
  3. Create new or use an existing protection group for pre-installed Veeam Agents. For more information on creating a new protection group, see Creating Protection Groups.
  4. Apply the protection group configuration settings to Veeam Agents on protected computers. For more information, see Deploying Veeam Agent for Linux.
