Restoring File Shares
You can restore backups created by file backup jobs directly from Veeam Service Provider Console.
Before You Begin
Before you restore a file share, check the prerequisites specified in the following sections of the Veeam Backup & Replication User Guide:
Additionally, make sure your service provider has enabled the following options:
- Veeam Backup & Replication REST API access
- Redirecting to the Veeam Backup & Replication web UI wizards from Veeam Service Provider Console

Restoring file shares is available for Veeam Backup & Replication version 13.1 or later. |
Required Privileges
To perform this task, a user must have one of the following roles assigned: Company Owner, Company Administrator.
Restoring File Shares
To restore file shares:
- Log in to Veeam Service Provider Console.
For details, see Accessing Veeam Service Provider Console.
- In the menu on the left, click Protected Data.
- Open the Data Backup tab and navigate to Virtual Infrastructure.
- Select the necessary backup job in the list.
- At the top of the list, click the necessary option:
- Restore Entire Share — select this option to restore all files.
- Restore Files and Folders — select this option to restore specific files and folders.
Alternatively, you can right-click the necessary backup job and select the necessary option.
Veeam Service Provider Console will open a restore wizard from the Veeam Backup & Replication web UI. Follow the procedure as described in the Veeam Backup & Replication User Guide, starting from the following sections:
- To restore an entire file share: Step 2. Select File Share to Restore
- To restore specific files or folders: Step 2. Select File Share to Restore
You can monitor the restore status in the Veeam Backup & Replication web UI. For details, see section Viewing Logs and Events in the Veeam Backup & Replication User Guide.
