Application-Consistent Snapshots (NetApp)

    During Backup from Storage Snapshots, Veeam Backup & Replication triggers NetApp to create temporary volume or LUN snapshots. Veeam Backup & Replication uses these snapshots as a data source for backup. Temporary storage snapshots created with Veeam Backup & Replication are application-consistent: they hold VM data in a consistent state and guarantee proper restore of application and services.

    You can use volume and LUN snapshots created with Veeam Backup & Replication to build a snapshot chain on the primary NetApp storage system, NetApp SnapVault and NetApp SnapMirror.

    To create application-consistent snapshots on NetApp storage systems, you must configure a backup job of the necessary type. Veeam Backup & Replication lets you configure two types of jobs:
