Step 10. Synchronize Backups and Tape Libraries

In this article

After the configuration database is restored, Veeam Backup & Replication can perform a synchronization operation for backups and replicas created on the backup server and tape libraries connected to the backup server.

The synchronization operation for backups and replicas is performed in the following situations:

    1. You are restoring a database from the backup created with Veeam Backup & Replication 7.0 in the Restore mode.
    2. You are restoring a database from the backup created with Veeam Backup & Replication 8.0 in the Restore mode and you have selected to restore data from the Backup and replica catalog.

The synchronization operation for tape libraries is performed in the following situations:

    1. You are restoring a database from the backup created with Veeam Backup & Replication 7.0 in the Restore mode.
    2. You are restoring a database from the backup created with Veeam Backup & Replication 8.0 in the Restore mode and you have selected to restore data from the Backup and replica catalog.

Wait for the synchronization operation to complete.

Step 10. Synchronize Backups and Tape Libraries Note:

Veeam Backup & Replication has a set of limitations for restoring tape data from configuration backups created with Veeam Backup & Replication 7.0. For more information, see https://veeam.com/kb1935.
