Restoring Databases from Oracle

In this article

Veeam Backup & Replication integrates with Veeam Explorer for Oracle — a tool that lets you browse Oracle databases in VM disks located on storage snapshots and restore Oracle databases.

Before you can start working with Veeam Explorer for Oracle, you need to extract the Oracle database from the storage snapshot. You can do it in two ways:

    • You can use the Oracle Database Restore wizard. In this case, Veeam Backup & Replication will automatically extract the Oracle database from the storage snapshot and open it in Veeam Explorer for Oracle. For more information, see Using the Oracle Database Restore Wizard.
    • You can perform VM guest OS files recovery for the virtualized Oracle server, manually locate the restored Oracle database and open it in Veeam Explorer for Oracle. For more information, see Opening Oracle Database Manually.
