Instant Recovery of Point-in-Time State

This section explains how to instantly recover a standalone database or a Data Guard database to a selected point-in-time state on the backup file.

Note

When performing instant recovery from a Data Guard configuration as described in this section, the databases from the Data Guard configuration will be recovered as standalone Oracle databases, preserving no Data Guard infrastructure.

To perform instant recovery to a selected point-in-time state, perform the following steps:

Launch the Instant Recovery wizard.
Specify a restore point.
Fine-tune the restore point.
Specify switchover settings.
Finalize the Instant Recovery session.
