Enabling Extended Logging

Veeam Backup & Replication provides detailed logging of performed data protection and recovery tasks. The Veeam Explorer for Microsoft SQL Server logs are located in the %UserProfile%\AppData\Local\Veeam\Backup\SQLExplorer\Logs folder on the backup server.

Tip

If you want to submit a support ticket, make sure to include all log files so that comprehensive information is provided to Veeam Support Team. You can do this with the Export Logs wizard as described in the Exporting Logs section of the Veeam Backup & Replication User Guide.

Veeam Explorer for Microsoft SQL Server allows you to enable an extended logging mode to collect logs that contain more details on specific operations. After you enable extended logging, you can go back to the application and perform the actions for which you want to collect additional information. Then you can collect the logs.

To enable extended logging, do the following:

  1. In the Veeam Explorer for Microsoft SQL Server main menu, click General Options.
  2. On the Advanced tab, select the Enable extended logging check box and click OK.
