To restore VM guest OS files and folders from Linux or Unix-based machines, use the Guest File Restore wizard.
- Check prerequisites.
- Launch the Guest File Restore wizard.
- Select a VM.
- Select a restore point.
- Configure a staging host.
- Specify a helper host.
- Select location for the helper appliance.
- Specify a restore reason.
- [For restore from storage snapshots] Start mount process.
- Verify restore settings.
- Finalize restore.
