Adding VMware Systems

There are different ways to configure monitoring of VMware servers and distribute the resulting monitoring jobs to Collectors within monitoring groups. Monitoring groups can be used to partition Collectors for logical and geographical reasons, to control failover and load balancing, and to configure collection settings.

The Veeam UI also allows you to configure a number of advanced settings to control data collection intervals, decide whether to gather data on VMs or on hosts only, and so on. The walkthrough below will illustrate basic configuration where all Veeam MP for VMware configuration and collection components installed on a single server. This configuration includes a single vCenter Server connection and default settings.
