Basic Configuration

The monitoring criteria for this configuration are:

• One vCenter Server will be connected.
• All clusters, hosts and VMs will be monitored.
• High-availability data collection backend is not required.

In this example, it is assumed that all Veeam MP for VMware back-end components have been installed on a single Management Server as described in section Single-Server Installation. This deployment scenario is suitable for evaluation, proof-of-concept and monitoring of a small or medium environment (less than 500 VMs). In this case, a single Collector server can accommodate the monitoring load, and collection redundancy is not required.

To start working with Veeam MP for VMware, perform a number of steps for its configuration:

1. Launch the Connect vCenter Server wizard.
2. Specify the vCenter Server connection settings.
3. Choose a collector group.
4. Choose hosts and clusters.
5. Finish working with the wizard.
6. Review the Dashboard tab.
7. Review the VMware Servers tab.
8. Review the Veeam Collectors tab.
9. Proceed to the OpsMgr Console.
