Maintenance Mode and vCenter Failover Issues

Symptoms

1. The Management Server cannot be put in the Maintenance mode automatically.
2. vCenter Connection Failover cannot create direct-to-host connections for a failed vCenter Server.

Causes

If Veeam MP for VMware Collector is installed on an OpsMgr agent-managed machine that communicates with the Management Server through a gateway server, the Management Server is both unable to access the OpsMgr SDK and unaware of hosts that were placed in the Maintenance Mode in the VMware vSphere Client.

Solutions

1. Manually put the Management Server in the maintenance mode as soon as any of its hosts is put in the maintenance mode.
2. Perform failover for the failed vCenter Server manually in the OpsMgr console.
