Adding Microsoft Azure Tenants

To start protecting your Microsoft Azure resources, you must add your Microsoft Azure tenant to Veeam Data Cloud.

Note

If you are a customer of a Veeam Cloud & Service Provider partner, the Add Azure Tenant wizard is not available for direct use. Ask your service provider to add your Azure tenant or send you an email with an invitation link that allows you to log in to Veeam Data Cloud and launch the wizard.

Before You Begin

Before you start onboarding an Azure tenant, make sure that the Azure account meets the following requirements:

  1. When you authorize Veeam Data Cloud to access the Azure tenant, use an account that has the Application Administrator role or a role with higher privileges. For more information about this role, see Microsoft documentation.
  2. To add a subscription to the Veeam Data Cloud protection scope, the account used for authorization must also have the following permissions at the subscription level:
  • Microsoft.Authorization/roleDefinitions/read
  • Microsoft.Authorization/roleDefinitions/write
  • Microsoft.Authorization/roleAssignments/read
  • Microsoft.Authorization/roleAssignments/write
  • Microsoft.Resources/subscriptions/resourceGroups/read

For more information about Azure permissions, see Microsoft documentation.
