Adding Veeam Data Cloud Vault

This section describes how to add Veeam Data Cloud Vault to the backup infrastructure. Veeam Data Cloud Vault is a secure cloud solution that leverages Azure Blob storage functionality. It provides enhanced security features such as in-built immutability and encryption. Veeam Data Cloud Vault allows you to store and maintain data in a secure and protected environment. Veeam Backup & Replication users can add Veeam Data Cloud Vault storage as an object storage repository, which can be used either for direct backup or as part of a scale-out backup repository.

Important

Consider the following:

  • To be able to back up to Veeam Data Cloud Vault from Veeam Backup & Replication, you must obtain Veeam Data Cloud Vault and configure its subscription. For more information, see the Veeam Data Cloud Vault User Guide.
  • To be able to use the Veeam Data Cloud Vault functionality, you must have the License Administrator role. For more information, see this Veeam KB article.
  • When you register Veeam Backup & Replication, make sure that the email address that you use is matches the email address of the License Administrator. (case-sensitive, character-perfect)

To add Veeam Data Cloud Vault, use the New Object Storage Repository wizard.

  1. Сheck prerequisites and limitations.
  2. Launch the New Object Storage Repository wizard.
  3. Specify object storage name.
  4. Specify object storage account.
  5. Specify object storage settings.
  6. Specify mount server settings.
  7. Review components.
  8. Apply settings.
  9. Finish working with the wizard.
