Upgrading Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365

You can upgrade Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 by installing a major version of the product.

Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 supports upgrade to version 8 from the following versions of the product:

• 7.0 (builds 7.0.0.2911, 7.0.0.2914, 7.0.0.3007, 7.0.0.3604, 7.0.0.3968, 7.0.0.4385, 7.0.0.4388, 7.0.0.4551, 7.0.0.4901)
• 7a (builds 7.1.0.1301, 7.1.0.1401, 7.1.0.1501, 7.1.0.1502, 7.1.0.2031)

To upgrade Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 and Veeam Explorers, do the following:

1. Launch the upgrade wizard.
2. Read and accept the license agreement.
3. Provide a license file.
4. Check the system configuration.
5. Review the Microsoft Entra application permissions.
6. Review the default installation settings.
7. Configure the PostgreSQL instance.
8. Configure the NATS server.
9. Begin the installation process.
