License Quota Usage

The License Quota Usage view provides cumulative information about license usage for Veeam Availability Console, Veeam Cloud Connect and Veeam Backup & Replication.

View License Usage Information

The License Quota Usage view includes the following widgets:

  • Backup Agent Quota widget shows the number of managed Veeam backup agents. The widget shows the number of workstation agents (computers that run Veeam backup agents in the Workstation mode) and server agents (computers that run Veeam backup agents in the Server mode).

For each Veeam backup agent type, the widget details the number of licensed agents, New agents, unlicensed agents and total agent quota configured by your service provider. Click a chart bar to switch to the list of Veeam backup agents with a corresponding license status. For details on Veeam backup agents license statuses, see Veeam Backup Agent License Statuses.

License Quota Usage Note:

If your service provider uses Rental license, Veeam Availability Console will treat Veeam backup agents registered within the current calendar month as New. New Veeam backup agents consume the Workstation agents and Server agents quotas, but can be managed in Veeam Availability Console even if these quotas are exceeded.

When the new month starts, you have 7 days of grace period. By the end of this period, you must decrease the number of managed Veeam backup agents or request for increase in agent quotas. Otherwise, the license status of Veeam backup agents  that exceed the specified quotas will be set to Unlicensed. These agents will be excluded from management in a LIFO (last in, first out) queue: Veeam backup agents that are registered (activated) last are excluded first from the management scope.

If you increase the Veeam backup agent quota after the grace period is over, Veeam Availability Console will not automatically activate Veeam backup agents that were excluded from management. To start managing Veeam backup agents with the Unlicensed status, you must activate them manually. For details on switching Veeam backup agents to managed mode, see Activating Veeam Backup Agents.

  • Cloud Backup and Replication Quota widget shows the number of backups and replicas residing in Veeam Cloud Connect. The widget shows the number of workstation backups (backups of physical computers or VMs that run Veeam backup agents in the Workstation mode), server backups (backups of physical computers or VMs that run Veeam backup agents in the Server mode), VM backups and replicas stored in the cloud.
  • Managed Backup Servers widget shows the license status of client Veeam Backup & Replication servers managed in Veeam Availability Console.

Click a chart bar to switch to the list of Veeam Backup & Replication servers with a corresponding license status.

  • License Usage Reports widget shows the number of licensed objects reflected in submitted license usage reports. If the number of managed objects in a license usage report was adjusted, the widget will show the adjusted number. For details on license usage reports, see Usage Reports.

Use the list at the top of the widget to show the necessary object type:

    • Workstation Agents — show the number of computers that run Veeam backup agents in the Workstation mode.
    • Server Agents — show the number of computers that run Veeam backup agents in the Server mode.
    • Workstation Backup (Cloud Connect) — show the number of backups for computers that run Veeam backup agents in the Workstation mode and that are stored on cloud repositories.
    • Server Backup (Cloud Connect) — show the number of backups for computers that run Veeam backup agents in the Server mode and that are stored on cloud repositories.
    • VM Backup (Cloud Connect) — show the number of VM backups that are created with Veeam Backup & Replication and that are stored on cloud repositories.
    • VM Replica (Cloud Connect) — show the number of VM replicas that are created with Veeam Backup & Replication and that are registered on cloud hosts.
